From the time I received delivery of my new F800Gs until later in the season, I added a few electrical accessories. Some were added in right off the start such as the GPS wiring and the Gerbings lead and a second power outlet. Others that came along later were the Vision X LED driving lights and the Autocom communication system. I basically added the wiring in as needed with minimal fuss just to get things working. It was all well and fine as far a function goes, but for form it was a little...

Finished the install of the Brake Modulator on the 09 BMW F800GS. Fairly simple. A little trial and error to get her to go...but it works, and works well. The only thing different from the description is that it will not have the 5 second "timeout." It WILL flash every time you hit the brakes. Don't care here. Remove the seat, remove tailbag plate, and the pillon "jesus" handles. remove the tail section piece. 2 torx bolts. You will see this. View image in gallery / garage and...

Well my belt gave way on the way home tonight. Just shy of 39,000 Miles. It had a slight tear on one side I'd noticed a few days ago and that seemed to be holding then just went. I've had a used belt sitting on the shelf for over a year so just a case or replacing it. So here's the pictures and procedure: The bike safe home with it's belt missing:

Overview This circuit indicates the condition of your battery using a single LED the colour of which changes with voltage: Below 12V orange 12 - 13.5V red 13.5 - 15V no display - so that no annoying lamp glows when all is well Over 15V green It can be used on any 12V battery charging system either as a test instrument by plugging into a powerlet/cigar/aux socket or permanently wired as a supplementary indicator.

Here's a report on the HID conversion on my K1300R (F800R below). I ordered the 1 Off Motorsport low beam conversion kit from Jose. it also includes the CAN-BUS decoder to prevent "bulb" error messages. (http://1offmotorsports.com) It takes between 30 and 45 minutes to install and is really easy. K1300R

On my last trip to the Phillip Island MotoGP, I noticed that both screws attaching the horizontal fairing bracket behind the cylinders had fallen out. Fortunately one of the screws still sat on the gearbox and so I was able to replace it for the trip home. The service schedule doesn't include tightening these bolts, but it's worth periodically checking them and other miscellaneous screws to avoid loss. When I went to get a new bolt from the dealer, the replacement part had a much larger...

Here is a link to the best site that I have yet come across to find information about battery types, charging batteries, type of chargers and pages and pages of everything that you can think of about automotive batteries and chargers. The amount of information here made my head spin: http://www.jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/carfaq.htm
