It's a bright and sunny late afternoon/evening in Cumbria and in a couple of hours I'll be going out to 'recce' the evening run I'm leading tomorrow*.

*Cumbrian back roads followed with a visit to a cafe in Brough for a bite to eat.
    Maps are OK but.

Absolutely glorious, sunny with a slight breeze. Couldn't tel you what the temperate actually is but is lovely.

Tomorrow (Friday) and the weekend are said to be pretty much the same so I've got everything crossed as JasonC, Scorchy & I are off for a journt to Wales and we're camping two nights as well.

There is something very strange happening outside this morning! A fiery orb has appeared over the horizon! At this point, I'm not sure what to make of it.....

I once saw the same fiery orb on the horizon which worried me a bit, but luckily it went away after a few hours and since then its rained like normal

Absolutely sunny and 47c (117f) with the "real feel" humidity factor heat index. According to the forecast.
Air temp is around 38c (100f).
Leave your bike parked in the sun and scorch your hiney on the black seat.
Navigating through diesel bus and truck traffic is no joy and just makes it worse.

This new fiery orb disappeared soon after it began to rain again. I did some investigation into local Indian lore that involved a Spider god and a coyote and other things along that line that didn't seem to give a satisfactory explanation to this seeming apocalyptic event. So the only thing left was to consult wikipedia about "fiery orb". I think I have discovered what I might witnessed. If only briefly...

    Sun - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:Sun_symbol.svg" class="image"><img alt="Sun symbol.svg" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6f/Sun_symbol.svg/25px-Sun_symbol.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@commons/thumb/6/6f/Sun_symbol.svg/25px-Sun_symbol.svg.png

It says there is actually places that have this going on a great deal of the time.

I am busy building a stone pile alter in my backyard to this "Sun" deity and will be sacrificing small animals in hopes to pleasing him/her so he/her will return......All hail fiery orb Steve/ Shella!

72, humid, overcast, middle of the night and would still rather take the bike swimming than be working. Did I mention it was humid?

It became summer here in Texas about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Mid eighties in the morning and upper nineties in the after noon. Its not too hot if you keep moving.

Anybody notice the" buffers" that moderate weather systems are slowly disintegrating, producing swings
from one extreme to the other

In medicine this is called "rapid cycling bipolar disorder",the frequency of which is also intensifying.

104 right now with 20% humidity, so the heat index is 104. Generally when we run 7 to 11% heat index is less than real temp. Oh well.

After a substantial amount of snow across the UK surprisingly the weather in the South of the UK had been pretty bad and is still a bit slushy but currently there is a slight amount of fine rain washing the white crap away.....until our next instalment

Anyone remember where the post was from last year which had the satellite picture of a completely white UK? I just wonder how different it would look now - probably not much.

Mood disorders have intensified in humans around the world, the gulf streamlies in deep depression ,senior climate is having hypomaniacal fits, solar activity swings from dead silent to full blast rage, and the entire solar system is having a bad hair day because it is drifting thru some kind of cosmic dust storm.Fortunately. in NM our aquifer. is so full of lithium that we don't care.

Nope, not in Cabo, I am on the gulf. Forecast has changed and it is going to be very, very cold on Christmas Day, it will likely
only reach 24c! These cold snaps are really tough to handle! I'll have to try to find the liner for my jacket! Or just wear a
    long sleeve shirt underneath.
    Man, winter sucks here.

After a week of soggy days the rain relented for a bit and I got out for a 4 1/2 mile walk around the 'hood. Then the thunder storms started and it's raining like crazy again.
Our local mountain road was supposed to open on the 20th but they have had 15 inches of rain since last wed at 0500 'til now. The area was burned to the ground a year ago and washed away several chunks of road. That had just been repaired. So just Phooey and Dang.
But it's not cold, neener, neener!

Well, here it's bloody cold as England at -2C due to the level of moisture in the air. They say I'll feel warmer in the dry -20 air of Calgary... can't wait!

The forecast yesterday was rain breaking to showers, they got that oner right.
Today is showers increasing to rain, it's heading that way, so 2 out of 2's not bad
Tomorrow is the same and Sunday is rain increasing.

Yes, it is the Sunshine Coast (liquid sunshine of late.)
