Wow what a day.The hail storms /wind made it challenging .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjcU1wrh4OQ
I've never riden in weather like that in 44 years of motorcycling .
All the other bikes avoided the coast road but 4 of us took it .
The wind was incredible , bikes being pushed all over the road you could bearly stand up .Then it snowed and hail, roads covered in ice (one French guy and his son) came off in front of us on an ice covered rounabout .All along the coast we where treated to a spectacular show of monster waves.Boulogne harbour wall was taking a pounding with gaint white plumes of water shooting upwards as the waves crashed against it.
Thousand of bikes made it down to LeTouquet ,the French seem to love riding in Jeans and trainers whatever the weather.
How those guys race in those conditions is unbelivable as was the TV Helicopter pilot.
One of our group's Honda Blackbird broke down .The cause was water in the carbs from the driving hail.
Tank off and carbs drained it was ok .Town was full and the Police stoped all traffic going in by Mid Aftrernon and they shut the coast route so the A16 was the only way back to Calais.
The Tunnel terminal was full as they had problems and all the trains where 2 hours late .More rain and hail on the M20 through Kent then it cleared for the last 50 miles back to St Albans .
A great day despite the weather.
Ready too board.Left to right Me(John), Vlad,Messias and Ben.
All aboard ,camera stayed in the tank bag for the rest of the day.

The original Schwartz Wald Troll
Good that some countries run the race no mater the conditions. Builds character. Unlike American auto racing that only operates in pristine conditions and only turns left....
