Went out and checked this evening in Greensboro, NC - Out of the 6 gas stations I checked, only 1 had fuel.

Brendan, that is so weird. All this past week, the only places I've stopped for fuel were Costco (they were out of premium last Saturday, 9/20, but not regular) and two Citgo stations, each of which had fuel. One Citgo stop was for the bike and one for the car.

So I didn't realize the problem was so widespread.

I'm starting to think it depends when you go. Both times I have checked has been after 5:00 or 6:00 on a weekday, so maybe everyone has been filling up after work and running the stations dry.

I just called the hotel to confirm my reservation for this weekend. I talked to some guy named Junior and he told me my name was no where on the list. I called within a day or two of the posting about this rally for my reservation. I don't know who I talked to except it was a woman. Junior put me on the list this time ( at least that is what he told me). Now I just hope I do not get charged twice for this room.

Just thought I would let you guys know, you might think you have a reservation but you might not. I never confirm my reservations but for some reason I felt I better.

I called a few days ago and they were all booked up. I don't know how you could have registered this time.

    Hey guys,
Just a quick note to let you know about our little place in Buena Vista to eat on your rides around the area. (www.franks4thememories.com) One of our regular customers has an ST, but I don't know if she's on the forum or not. (I will remind her!) Unfortunately, I'll be out of town on business... Have a great time riding our roads, and watch out for large wildlife: a friend hit a bear up on the Parkway a week ago!

Highly recommended. I keep Frank's as a waypoint in my GPS and have done it as a lunch ride from DC. 60 coming down from the parkway is more fun that the parkway.

Let me guess, Brendan -- NC89 around Hanging Rock, right? That on your list? Sweet, isn't it?

Look forward to meeting you all; I'll be up early afternoon on Saturday. Stopping in Roanoke on the way up to force a coworker who lives there (a good old Southwest VA boy) to eat some Indian food.

Is there a schedule, time for dinner, etc? We couldn't get a room at the inn so we're staying down the road at Natural Bridge, not sure what time we'll get in friday evening.

Much of the ride early morning Thursday was cold and windy from Chicago to Indianapolis. Once pass Indy, the ride to Chillicothe, OH, where I'm staying the night, was cool and sunny. The last 75 miles turned cold again. Heading to VA this morning. I'm really excited!

I should arrive in Buchanan around 2ish.

Didn't get to Buchanan until about 2:00 PM on Saturday; sorry I missed Brendan and bikerdoc and glad you weren't hurt too badly, Brendan. Shame about the bike, though; always good to have a reason to get a new one, though.
