Stay safe Guys. You may not know how much somebody on the other side of the world enjoys/needs your post. When this is over it's on the bucket list to shake Bill, Philip, Richard and Chris's hand (and when I get to the US there are are others I will seek out). We are all different, we may have have different politics and maybe views. Maybe we may have different theologies but there is more unities us than divides us. Pull together for families, for our communities , for our countries, for Humanity God knows He knows needs us right know. Love (in the truest sense of the the Word) you all.

My wife and I kept busy taking care of business around the house. I spent some time in the shed and read. Then when it warmed up, I took the French Bulldogs and Jack Russell out to an empty park to get some air and running in. So she had the house to her self mostly watching TV about the Coronavirus. I made bran muffins.....

That could happen. Since joining the Forum in 2007 I have had the privilege to make lifelong friends. I have had a member ten years ago visit from the Black Country in the UK starting the process. Also, visited France and Greece. All on invitations by some very beautiful people I might add. Feel free to contact me through private message as someday, it all could happen again.

Would have loved to ride to Laconia Bike Week, in NH this year, but as for now big gatherings are not wise. I agree with Runmyownlife when he said,

"When people are playing loose with the rules it actually puts all our civil liberties in jeopardy — it makes government have to look at more and more stringent measures to actually contain people in their own homes.

Something to ponder next time you rationalize a trip out of the house."

However, I'm keeping the faith that we'll all get to ride in our social groups again soon! Now is a time to for us examine and humble ourselves, and pray for our leaders. While we're at it, let's do a good deed for a neighbor.

Anyone coming into Australia were initially asked to self isolate for 14 days, but there were quite a few not complying,
So some states started fining them $1000+, that helped a bit. But a few were still not doing the right thing.
So now the some states have come down tough. Come midnight tonight, anyone coming into Aus now are quarantined into a hotel room for 14 days and if they step out of the room they could be up for a $11,000 fine and 6 months jail.

I was under the impression at the start of all this when people were returned to their home countries from Wuhan they were required to self isolate, it obviously wasn't enforced. And that could a factor of why we're in deep shit now.

I had breakfast with a friend today who works for several local radio stations maintaining their transmitter equipment. For some unknowable reason, a local county sheriff pulled him over on Friday while he was driving a company truck and asked him why he was driving around when he should have been sheltering at home. Once he pulled out his Homeland Security letter stating that he was authorized to be on the road as he is maintaining critical communications infrastructure, the cop walked away without saying anything else. This was a couple of days after the county DA said that he would prosecute anyone not obeying the shelter in place regulations and 6' social distancing. What a bunch of jerks. Surely they must have something better to do, especially with the courts closed and trying to do everything via the internet.

I visited Alice's Restaurant today in the Santa Cruz Mountains. (I stuck to the back roads and away from major roads, which the cops were patrolling in force.) The place was pretty much deserted and only selling takeout meals. Their dining room was closed but their parking lot was not. Photos attached.

Here is a scary article published in my newspaper today regarding staying safe while pumping gas. Fortunately, I have a box of disposable nitrile gloves that I use when working on my motorcycles. However, finding disinfectant wipes and sprays, paper towels and similar items to clean the fuel pump handle and pump operation pads is almost impossible right now.

Another article today mentioned that all 23 county parks are closed in my county, so the park department is saying that their usual visitors will have to travel further than normal to find trails that remain open. Like I said, we are getting conflicting messages.

Oregon has allowed self pumping because of the corona virus. Prior to this, Oregon and New Jersey were the only states that had attendants pump.

Another article today mentioned that all 23 county parks are closed in my county, so the park department is saying that their usual visitors will have to travel further than normal to find trails that remain open. Like I said, we are getting conflicting messages.

Need a bit of a rant after three weeks of acting socially responsible.

I'm tired of forsaking relatively low-risk things in order to counterbalance all the dumb people who do high-risk things no matter what they’re told.

None of the measures will ever make perfect sense in every single situation. That's not an opportunity to create excuses for yourself.

Physically remain in your home. (Workers deemed essential and serious medical issues are legitimate exceptions.)
Do not receive visitors (including family members that don't live with you.)
If food can't be delivered, one person goes grocery shopping, as infrequently as possible.
Scrub your hands with soap and water.

Send some appreciation to medical workers, truckers, grocery clerks and teachers who are operating under enormous pressure so we can stay home.
    Concrete remains undefeated.

Why is there a need to bash anyone? Most forums don't allow for trashing of others but when the moderators jump in and participate I have to ask why I am even here. Isn't this site supposed to be about motos? I can get all of the BS I need on a daily basis from the network news. If this is what this site and its members are about then my F800GS, F800ST and I am out of here!

I totally agree. But there are some that will use anything Trump does that is good as an excuse to bash him.

I moved the thread to the "Grown Up" section. You get the choice to read it, or not. Politcs, religion, guns are allowed here, and only in this section. As I told another member the other night in a PM when he asked where I was, I said that this place makes me feel dirty like I need a bath. Many of those who post here will find a way to subtly bash Trump no matter what happens. My moving it was just to keep from policing it...which means I have to read the garbage. I have better things to do.

I see that, and the only reason I ended up there was because the thread was pushed to me via email on the trending topics notification. I mostly just lurk on this forum, but the only thing that bothers me is the moderators who seem to be leading the charge with this BS. Thanks for the effort that you put in on the forum, but it is always a shame when a few loudmouths can drive away other reasonable members who might otherwise participate on a site.
