I think the new Equinox was the most interesting thing, to me, from GM at CES. A $30K EV offering would enhance EV accessibility to many. IIRC from the other article though is that it only has about 200 miles range. That is likely fine in the real world but most people expect to have 300+ before they make the leap. Also, I think when you temper that with cold weather range, degradation over time, etc, I, too, would want more range.
However, I went to a farmer's market in the Fall and it was also an EV awareness day, There were many satisfied with 100-mile range Nissan Leafs (Leaves??? ). They did seem though to have a much higher 'green' commitment so are more likely than the average person to adjust lifestyles and make compromises on things like range to demonstrate a green commitment.
