Ahh, there's nothing like a nice Islay single malt. My late wife once bought me a bottle of 35 year old Bowmore. Twas a wonderful thing it was. I finished the last of it the night of the funeral, and I still have fond memories of that bottle.

Tis the season for the mint to sprout in my garden and that means mojitos. I use Mount Gay Barbados Rum (great stuff) and stay light on the sweetener. I use a little Splenda instead of a simple syrup. Nice after hot day of working in the yard....or on the deck after a long afternoon of riding.

Are you sure it's the beer burning your arse for a week or what transpired after you drank the stuff and had all loss of conscious memory?

In my part of the northern hemisphere IPA's (India pale ales) are hugely popular. If you don't get it down in NE it's a pale/straw colored ale, light and crisp, on steroids (the kind I like is 8.4% alchohol). I'm not big on the motor oil that comes out of other parts, but beer tends to match the climate and darker beers are more warming in the winter and crisper beers (lagers, pale ales) are more thirst quenching and satisfying in the summer.
Beer, like women, should come in all colors and degrees of thickness

OK, this is one of the reason I like living where I am, in spite of the rain. On returning from Portland. My wife and I decided to go to Washuogal on the Washington side of the Columbia River. Seems my wife wanted to visit the Pendleton outlet store there. After some shopping on our way out I found the new Amnesia Brewery, had lunch and a nice IPA . The Ruben we split was tasty but, the IPA was even more tasty..

On a recent beer buying trip to the New Glarus Brewing Company, in New Glarus, Wisconsin, I brought back two of my favorites - Totally Naked and Two Women. I snapped a pic of 1 bottle of each, side by side, and emailed it to the brewery website. Told them it could be a new ad campaign. "Every man's dream - Two Women Totally Naked"
