It shows how the dye migrates through the damaged tissue. My tests were $3k+ each so you might have them skip the non-contrast variety, at great expense. Interestingly, my 1st MRI included an MRI at the same session of my neck. Then a few weeks ago another MRI was ordered of my ears for reasons for hearing issues. 4 MRI's in about 3 months. All covered by my HealthNet HSA since my deductible for the year is paid full up.

If your going from N. Dakota to the Beartooth it may be worth trying to hit 14 and coming through Shell canyon or over the Big Horn, it would be an easy tie in to the Chief Joseph scenic highway (sunlight Basin) which pops you out on the Cooke City side of 212.

I gotta build up of fluid the Doc wants drain between the muscle layers I banged up when I dashed myself around the handle bars and the ground. So other than the drain I'm hoping that will be the end of it.
God, what an opportunity...I'll show you my scars! What else can one do at rallies when sharing a cordial with friends and the conversation lags.

I registered a little while ago and now it looks like my schedule will cooperate with my plans. I am excited about attending my first BMW rally and was doing I little research about possible offroad options for the GS riders and came across the link below. I would like to hear opinions from the other GS guys/gals and I am glad to help in any way that I can with the off road options. I am a new again rider after a long hiatus and have basic map reading skills and a high tolerance for being lost

Looking forward to seeing everyone in September,

I'm the one who registered from Kentucky a couple of days ago.

I meet several of the form members last year at the rally. Look forward to doing it again this year.

Alright, I'm registered and my room is booked!! I booked a room with two double beds so if anyone wants to split the cost let me know. I'm staying the 9th and 10th. Whoever else is coming in on the 9th lets meetup or exchange contact info unless that has already been posted somewhere and I missed it. I'm kinda late to this party.

Rob Slayden 417-268-7947 I live in Las Vegas, but will actually be working my way down from Montana/Wyoming/SD before I get to Grand Junction.

ROB/BILL- I stole a few of your stops for your week after ride. THANKS! Still looking for more.

Moggs, ol bean, have a nice ride, your itinerary looks to die for. Except for the long miles between the end of the Trace and GJ. But if you've never seen any of it new is always nice.

I'll just wrap my shawl around me and clutch the crucifix to my chest and whimper quietly.

OK so I'm going to try to post a ride that I think will be awesome. I'm trying to work out a few details like brunch / lunch, best gas stops, etc. The loop would take us west on 70 for about 50 miles then the rest is on two lane. It follows the Colorado River into Moab, through Moab south to La Sal Junction, east into some alpine terrain then decends to the Dolores River to Naturita. From Naturita (gas stop) north through Gateway and back to the Sandman for Happy Hour. It's about a 6 1/2 hour ride and will cover about 290 miles.
It's all paved and good road. I hope this works for at least a handful of us. See you in Grand Junction!

    Jammer, thats a nice ride.

For the GS'ers I planning on a ride up on the Grand Mesa, I'm finally heading over there today and tomorrow to check out a couple of optional loops. Hope to have the ride posted later this week.

Just came across the rally this evening. I've registered and will be heading to Junction from North Platte, NE on Friday morning. I've got a 2 bed motel room reserved so if anyone wants to split a room drop me a message. If you want to attend but are feeling kind of poor drop me a message and you're in for free. Should be a good time hanging with like minded people. See ya on Friday ! ! George

    Hey Rob
Just got the 2011 NA F800 Rally notice...I realise the F800 is the "center ring ride" but would kill to ride with you guys on my GSA.
I am on tour on Vancouver Island in BC and riding to the states and your way on 7th.

Rest assured I am sporting K60's and have a pretty good feel for the bike after the Pacific Northwest Rally hosted by the Rawhyde boys.

Plus I dont eat much...so how bout it..you want my registration $.

This is a F800 rally......BUT any make model and year of motorcycle, scooter, moped, hell anything with 2 or 3 wheels is welcome. I traveled to the Cass WV rally in 2009 on my Harley Electra Glide and everyone made me feel welcome, Well everyone except Marty Two more registrations after the mass mailing 1 from Canada, one from Nebraska.

I feel compelled to mention that the deer population seems to be very strong this year. I've personally had two very close calls on my bike since June.and about six in my truck (even tagging one as I screeched to a stop. No damage to truck or doe...just to underwear). A vendor nailed a buck within Hotchkiss city limits on his way to the Top O' the Rockies Rally a month ago. You can see it on You Tube. We had a buck jump on a rider outside of Mancos last week. He (rider) did not fair well.
I'm just saying this seems to be a year with a lot of activity so don't let you guards down.

Wild Bill, are you riding the Harley out to Colorado for the rally? Since the last rally I've purchased a H-D as well(Fatboy) still have my BMW K1200GT but the f800st is long gone.A fall down the basement stairs two years ago has limited the type of bikes that are comfortable to ride long distance.Georiga to Colorado is long distance, and I was there in 2008 at the TOP O'THE ROCKIES RALLY in Paonia(prior to fall) lovely area. Don't forget to ride down to Durango/Silverton,worth the ride.Y'all have a good time,I'll be at the Georiga HOG Rally the same weekend.

Actually I do commute on the bumble bee 90 miles/day 3-4 days a week in summer. I work in Aspen. So almost as close to ride to JunkTown.

A great ride would be GJ to Gateway on Hwy 141. Then continuing along Dolores river to Uravan. South on river road (dirt) and then back west through Paradox valley to La Sal, UT and then Moab. Then back on the Colorado river road to GJ. Around 280 miles. This is very beautiful country. Mountains, canyons, rivers, red rock. Awesome.

    Wyatt out.

I got ****ed into working on thursday night from 6P to 6A, so still on the fence. 6 hour ride out. Definitely not after working all night then riding without MAYBE 6 hours of sleep, but if I can plan it out right... Have till Friday to decide.
May take Georgee up on this and split, if I can't wake up too early and make it before dark. Crossing the fingers I can do it

One more registration today 9-1-11. You guys know it closes on Friday. It really does. I have my F650GS prepped and ready. I even bought some Cruz tools, just in case. Leaving Saturday 9-3-11, early, not bright and early, JUST early. The only decision I have yet to make is what kind of bourbon I am going to pack.

What, is Rob playing hard to get? Staying sober?
Hope the weather is good and the riding pleasant.

Leaving Monday noon to spend a night in Show Low AZ at my summer home then Tuesday north to Colorado. Probably spend a night in Delores Co or Ridgeway CO arriving in Grand Junction for the Funtion Wednesday afternoon. Will be leading a ride to The Black Canyon or Silverton which ever you would prefer. Silverton is up the North side of the Million Dollar Highway through Oray and is at 10,000 feet elevation. East side of the Black Canyon is also spectacular with lunch in Gunnison. Just did that four weeks ago while at the Top O The Rockies Rally in Paonia. Both rides are great and a decision on either one would be a win.
I saw many deer there several weeks ago and don't forget the Elk. This is the begining for rutting season (breeding) and both the Elk and Deer get a little crazy. (remember your college days!)

Looking forward to meeting all of you. Lets have Fun!

Well I'm looking forward to the weekend. I've got a GS ride plannned for the Grand Mesa. This is a nice mix of pavement, gravel and dirt roads. We'll head up the dirt switchbacks on Lands End Road climbing over 5000' to altitudes above 10,000', do some mixed riding up on the top, eat lunch at the Thunder Mtn Lodge, then take Hwy 65 back down and into Grand Junction. The ride is easy and open to anyone, (novices and beginners are welcome), and the basic route is about 150 miles, which should give us some time for some optional and more challenging offshoots on top if desired. There are several options available as well, including an addtional 25 mile loop for for more experienced riders. If anyone wants more miles there is a loop that will drop down into Collbran, and more dirt that will drop onto McClure Pass, and either come back via 65 and the Grand Mesa or through Marble, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs and 1-70 back into Grand Junction. Temperatures last week ranged from lower 90s at the bottom to upper 40s in the morning on top.

The invitation still stands if anyone wants to spend the night in the Crested Butte area on Thursday. I can offer camping space, and there is plenty of lodging in Gunnison or Crested Butte. Lots of options for rides to Grand Junction on Friday.

    See you all soon.

Won't be able to ride down until Sat AM from Glenwood Springs. Does anyone know what time the Sat rides will get off? Can someone email me with a cell phone number so I can try to find you Sat AM. I'll reply with my mobile number too.
    Thanks
