Troy Corser got 11/555. Ruben Xaus obviously got 111/555. Berti Hauser, director of BMW Motorsport, has 35/555. And little ol' me, just got in the mail 509/555:

Not bad for $250. It's a simple but solid quality quartz movement (a Miyota/Citizen, if you're into watches), and the watch itself is made/assembled in Italy. I used to have a couple very high-end Swiss watches, but after losing them in a 2004 divorce, I actually haven't worn a watch since; I'd rather buy a bike than a watch (and the prices are comparable). Kinda hard to drop back down to a Tag Heuer or even a Rolex (god forbid, should I also ride a Harley as well??), after having had a rare handmade Swiss watch from a maker that you'd only recognize if you were serious about high-end watches.

But this one really fits the bill. Numbered edition, which seems to count among watch snobs, I mean, connoisseurs, Alpha Racing let me choose my number and the order process was very personal. It's a lot of value (WSBK fan, limited edition, Troy Corser has one too!!!) for $250!

Feel free to throw me a Tag as a token gift. I have had my eye on one but not the extra $$ to justify.

Just jealous myself...have my Timex Ironman on now that I have had for about 5 years and the original battery.

these are just $250, so it's actually quite a bargain, and there are still some available:

Nice watch, Toby.

I bought a BMW watch when I got the bike a few years ago. Stainless band, black face with stopwatch etc. Swiss movement, water resist - not bad looking and about about the same price as yours. Took it to the jeweler for service recently (I want a flat crystal face for it instead of the slightly convex one - I've found a flat face tends to resist scratches more effectively) and he said "There's a good movement in here, same as in Tissot watches like this."

I'm not fully convinced Corser and Xaus, would actually wear this watch outside of BMW/Alpha Racing PR events.

probably, but who knows? The whole WSBK team got one, it's a collectors item for sure. I'm wearing mine though; no sense in keeping in the box, never to see the light of day.

they delivered to Korea so they'll surely deliver to the States! Just need a credit card or you can wire them cash (they took my card over the phone). Shipping was a bit steep (50 euros) but I got it in three days.

nope. It's locked into Berlin time; every effort to switch it to any other time is futile as it snaps back to Berlin time.

Pull the battery though, and it'll keep perfect Musician's Time...

i heard when you have it on your wrist and you get on the S1000, it automatically switches it into full on race mode. some kinda salt and vinegar micro chip. and if you crash it, you have to break open the watch to eat that chip and everything turns to magic and then you float away into rainbows and light trails.

thats what i heard anyway

close Jason, but you must have misheard the details. When you wear the watch and mount the mighty S1000RR, it unlocks a *fifth* ride mode simply called "Corser". In that mode, you automatically become as fast as Troy Corser when he scored pole position at Misano.

Yep, quite a watch, and we all thought it just kept time!!
