I visited there a few years ago. A neat place, definitely worth a visit. There's plenty of good roads in the area too. For those that aren't aware, the museum is 99.9% Harley Davidson. There's a handful of other oddities, but you won't find a single BMW, or anything else that wasn't made in the USA.
If anyone is interested in what they've got, I've got an online album from my visit:

I was there about the time of the opening of the Maggie Valley museum when not everything had been moved from Illinois.

You are wrong to say there will be nothing BMW there. There are a number of licensed from BMW boxers manufactured by Harley-Davidson on display dating back from WW-II.
    2016 Yamaha FJR1300A; 2016 Beta 430RS; 2007 BMW F800S; 2009 Husaberg FE450; 2016 Subaru Outback; 2018 F150; 2013 Tesla Model S 85; 1983 Porsche 928S; 9 cats

The United States/ Harley Davidson had licensing agreements with the enemy for engine/ bike design during WWII? I just thought they were copying BMW.

"During World War II, the U.S. Army asked Harley-Davidson to produce a motorcycle as good as BMW's side-valve R71. So Harley copied the BMW, simply converting metric measurements to inches, and produced the shaft-drive 750 cc 1942 Harley-Davidson XA. Due to the superior cooling of an opposed twin, Harley's XA cylinder heads ran 100° cooler than its V-twins'. The XA, though a wonderful motorcycle, was eclipsed by the Jeep. Only 1,000 were made and the XA never went into full production."

Sounds like a good ride to/from and a great collection to go see, when are you arriving at the rally and thinking of visiting the museum? I'll be there Thursday afternoon.

Brendan - spot on about the XA - now that's a Harley I would actually own. And while they never went into 'full' production, the info I've managed to dig up on them indicates the troops who actually got to use them loved them.
Hmm, maybe Ural ought to look at using them for a model...................

I'm in (along with the two others I'm bringing with me) for around noon on Saturday. I think Friday is going to be a riding day as I'm showing up on Thursday night as well.

I am more interested in dating sites today. As the authorities advise to restrict everyday interaction in real life, I take it seriously and communicate mainly online. It brings me a lot of positive emotions. What can be better than new acquaintances online? You can also try it https://mylistcrawler.com/ . The registration takes minutes. And you can surf the pages anonymously.

I am currently browsing the motorcycle wheel category of 4wheelonline. They are currently at 25% off and I am thinking about getting the Xtreme Machine Launch Black model. I wonder if there's anyone here who runs a set on their bike.
